Behind Closed Door

The following is a dramatization of actual events. So actual in fact, it happened just last night while Glogirly was watching Monday night TV.  Big night ... The Voice and Blacklist.

WAFFLES:  Ooops.

KATIE:  Waffles! What did you DO???

WAFFLES:  Uh... shut the door?

KATIE:  Waffles, you've LOCKED us in the guest room!

WAFFLES:  I didn't MEAN to! It was an accident!

KATIE:  Waffles, this fascination with doorknobs, door frames... this whole door obsession of yours has GOT to STOP.

WAFFLES:  So what do we do now, Boss?

KATIE:  What do you mean, 'what do WE do?' YOU locked us in here. Get us OUT!

WAFFLES:  Uh... I don't know how to open the door. I only know how to shut it.

KATIE:  With us inside. That's just great.

WAFFLES:  Maybe if we hit the boingy thing, someone will hear us.

KATIE:  I'll hit YOUR boingy thing–

WAFFLES:  *boing*  *boing*  *boing*  *boing*

KATIE:  It's not working, Waffles. They're watching TV. The Voice is on. For TWO whole hours.

WAFFLES:  Two HOURS?

KATIE:  Followed by Blacklist for ANOTHER hour.

WAFFLES: Wanna take turns with the boingy thing?

KATIE:  This is SO not what I had planned for my Monday night.

  1. This has happened so often in our house that there are now blocks on most doors so that Ichiro cannot close them. He also turns on lights and the radio too.

  2. You need to live in a yurt guys. If you get stuck behind a locked door you just have to jump up on the walls and you are OUT

  3. The adventures you two get into! When did Glogirly finally realize you were missing?

  4. Our Mommy lives in fear of this happening at our house. Princeton would panic and tear something up!

Glad you two got busted out!
    MOL!

  8. Nothing ever gets locked around here except the doors to the outside. I hope this means we are safe!

  9. Too funny! Max and Charlie have done this twice, but they lock themselves in the bathroom.

  10. Aww, poor kitties! Especially poor Katie, I'm sure she would have loved it if the door had close with Waffles inside and her with the rest of the place to herself! MOL

  14. Gotta be careful with doors, Waffles! Good thing the boingy thing was there to make noise with. It must have been terrible, forced to wait and wait and wait two and a half hours to get out. Katie, how did you keep from turning The Orange Menace into a rug?

  15. Pierre got locked in the spare room closet recently, and the head peep didn't notice until he went crazy trying to get out at treat time. How long were you in the Waffles-induced slammer, Katie?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh, our Mom LUFFS Blacklist! Great show.

  17. Ernie does this all the time. Wally's just grateful he's not in the room most of the time.

Hope you got outta there...though we bet Katie got out first and closed the door behind her leaving Waffles in there!

  18. That's when you have to meow at the top of your lungs until the humans come and let you out, MOL.

    ReplyDelete
  19. These humans and their TV shows! Don't they know they need to have devote all of their attention to us! Glad you were finally rescued and got lots of treats for your cries for help went ignored.

  20. we got one of those boingy things in the bathroom....the foster kittens like to play with it (at 3am usually). we don't get stuck too many times, but Mo has spent the day closed in the bedroom more than once.

  23. If its too quiet for a long time mom will ask where's the cat/dog? She knows there's something wrong! My guess is they'll be even closer to each other now. Love Dolly

  25. Move here, we don't watch either of those shows (wink)

  26. Whoa! How did you guys take pictures while you were locked in. Oh, yeah, a dramatization. My favorite line is “I’ll hit YOUR boingy thing! HAH! I was locked in a closet practically overnight but Pop finally heard me scratching on the door. He’s good that way. Even if he’s watching TV, he’ll keep axing where I am.

  27. Waffles buddy..you are an accident just waiting to happen...sigh

  28. Katie that was better than when our Mom locked herself out of our house and had to break in through the window.

    ReplyDelete
  29. We would never be allowed to be missing for that long, especially if there were only two of us. Our mom would be wondering what kind of mischief we were up to and looking for us. Hope their was no destruction and just lots of "boinging." We are not allowed in the guest room; though, we will leap at the chance to get in if the door is opened. Then we have to be bribed with treats to come out. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  30. Oh Katie:
I sooo sorry you haz a goof as your roommate.
But, you didn't tell us when mom found you

  31. Funny I can hear Katie whapping upside your head Waffles.
    *BOING BOING BOING*
    MOL
We have been locked IN with Dad as a little new kitty here rolls into the door when he gets excited and playing with his floofy tail. No I did not say Einstein

  32. Waffles, we thinks you need to borrow Scylla. She screams loud enough that everyone can hear her no matter what TV show they are watching. You would never be locked in anywhere again.

    ReplyDelete
  33. MOL ! No door can be locked without turning a key here, and every door has a door stopper (?) on it that avoid it to get closed accidentally ! Purrs

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh no! Maybe you need a louder boingy thing. . . . or a kitty monitor.

    ReplyDelete
  35. OMC! Derby got shut in a closet for a whole work day once. They Ducky got shut inside the shower for a couple of hours once.

We don't close the big room doors.

    ReplyDelete
  36. At least you had the boingy thing to keep you occupied.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, if you're gonna be stuck in a room, a boingy thing sure does help pass the time...

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. oh that's just wrong. your mom should take out all the doors in the house so this never happens again

  39. WAIT. Where'd our comment go??? WE HAD A COMMENT HERE!
