Treat Toy Thievery

Hi everyone, Katie here.

One of the (few) cool things Glogirly came home from BlogPaws with was this fishbowl-style treat dispenser. Thank COD it matches our Townhouse decor, or you KNOW she would have probably left it behind.

She's supposed to fill it up with treats and then I'm supposed to fish them out with my paw.
It's weighted at the bottom so it won't tip over. (Let me clarify...it's not supposed to tip over.)

Unfortunately before I even had a chance to give it a try, you-know-who decided to get in on the action.

Treat thief.

Just one look though, and I reign victorious.

I'm Living With A Maru-Wannabe

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I have only three things to say today.

1. I do not like boxes, bags, closed doors or Coke Zero.
2. I do not much care for orange cats named Waffles.
3. I'm convinced I'm living with a Maru-Wannabe.

Serenity now.
Ok, that was 4.

Cat-in-the-Bag
Hi everyone, Katie here.

You know, I've never been a fan of enclosed spaces. I realize it's almost un-CAT-like of me to have a box phobia. But it's true. I don't do cardboard. I'm not big on bags either.

Until now.

Happy Memorial Day From Katie & Waffles

Um, hi everybuddy. Waffles Too here.

The Boss put me in charge Me Oriole Day.  I had no idea there was a whole holiday devoted to an orange bird. Or that there would be a cool hat for it. But I'M orange, so it makes sense that I get to be in charge of me oriole.

KATIE:  *heavy sigh* Waffles, Waffles, Waffles.

WAFFLES TOO: Um. Boss, Boss, Boss?

KATIE: Waffles, today is MEMORIAL Day. It's a very special day devoted to remembering and honoring our loved ones. Especially those that have served in the military. Did you not READ yesterday's SPECIAL BLOG POST???

WAFFLES TOO: Um. I looked at the pictures. Does that count?

KATIE: Waffles, take off your bird hat and wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day.

WAFFLES TOO:  Um, ok. Happy Me Oriole Day everyone. Please join me and the Boss in remembering the people and cats...Um Boss? Dogs too?

KATIE:  Yes, Waffles. Dogs too.

WAFFLES TOO: Help us remember the people, cats, dogs and everyone that we have loved and lost.

KATIE:  And a very special thank you to the service men, women and animals who've dedicated their lives to protecting us.

Kitty Love For Our US Marines ♥

Katie, "Is He Home Yet?"

Hi everyone, Katie here.

It's Memorial Day weekend here in the US. The actual holiday is observed tomorrow, but all over the United States, our thoughts turn to three-day-weekends, barbecues and wand toys. ...ok, we were already thinking of wand toys long ago. We also remember those that have served and continue to serve our country. Those that through their actions, commitment and loyalty, preserve and protect our freedom. A freedom that's so intangible, we almost forget about it.

Looking Up To My US Marine
Here at the Townhouse, our thoughts turn to two very special veterans. Each served their country as a US Marine.

And although they served decades apart, their strength of character and selfless compassion makes them brothers.

Glogirly's dad served in the Pacific Theatre of WWII. He fought on the islands of Saipan, Tinian and eventually Iwo Jima. He didn't talk much about what he saw, what had to be done. But he was proud. He was a man of true character. Strong. He was also a man of compassion. He was, and will always be, Glogirly's hero.

Gabe, Glogirly's stepson, recently returned home from his four year tour of duty in the US Marines. Gabe's dedication and commitment are something we are all so very proud of.

When he graduated from Basic Training, at the same Marine Corp Recruit Depot in San Diego that Glogirly's dad trained at some 70 years ago, he told Glogirly how much he admired the men like her dad. He said they were the real deal, the true heros. That brought a tear or two to her eyes. And an admiration for Gabe that will never falter. Semper Fi.

Kisses for my US Marine
Oh, and did we mention he loves cats?

Photohunt: *Copper* ... and Robber?

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Now that BlogPaws is behind us, it's back to normal here at the Townhouse. Well, as normal as normal can be when you're living with a teenage Orange Crush.

Today's Photohunt theme is *Copper.*

Looks a little more like *Dirty Copper* to me.

If anyone needs to be cuffed here, it's a certain Food, Toy & Trophy Thief.  NOT me.

Here We Go Again

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Ever since Glogirly came home from BlogPaws, Waffles Too has been strutting around the Townhouse, pretending like he owns the place. Ok, so he was already doing that about 6 months, 2 days and 4 hours ago. Will he EVER learn???

 If you have to ask.

That's how it's done.

Infinity And Beyond

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Glogirly came home from BlogPaws with a new desktop picture on her computer. I'd heard rumors from Cathy Keisha that Waffles Too was taking over the world.  So, what with all the attention Waffles has been attracting as of late, it's only appropriate that I maintain a strict 3:1 ratio.  That's three of me for every one of him.

Just call me Katie³.

Waffles Wednesday: The Silent Treatment

Um hi everybuddy, Waffles Too here.

Ever since Katie & Waffles On-A-Stick got home from BlogPaws, I've been getting the silent treatment. They don't talk much, what with being flat cats and all. And Katie... um I mean the Boss, isn't talking much either.

I think it's cuz I won a Nosey Award and she didn't. Don't worry though. I won't let all this fame and fortune go to my head.

Word.

Katie & Waffles: Honorary Fire Safety CATS

Hi everyone, Katie & Waffles On-A-Stick-Here.

One of the highlights of our trip to BlogPaws was meeting our friends, Firefighter Dayna & Molly The Fire Safety Dog. I know, I know... Molly's a DOG. But she DOES wear a pretty black and white coat and she even likes cats. Glogirly became friends with Dayna & Molly when she designed their blog, business cards and swag for them. They really wanted to put their best paws forward for BlogPaws.

Dayna & Molly's business cards

They surprised us with an amazing honor. They made us HONORARY FIRE SAFETY CATS!!! We even got hats. (The jury's still out on whether the REAL Katie & Waffles will want to wear their hats...but us flat cats think they're pretty cool.)

Their blog, Fire Safety Rocks, was a finalist in the Nose-to-Nose Awards for Best Cause Blog. When Dayna and Molly were unexpectedly called away from BlogPaws to appear at a fire safety event in New York City, they asked US if we would accept the award on their behalf, should they be lucky enough to win. And they DID!!!

Fire Safety Rocks' new blog header

Because an important part of fire safety is being prepared, Molly the Fire Safety Dog pre-recorded an acceptance speech that Glogirly was to play on her iPhone into the microphone up on stage.

When emcee David Frei (the voice of Westminster) announced Fire Safety Rocks as the Best Cause Blog Winner, Glogirly ran to the stage with both of us, Katie & Waffles On-A-Stick in one hand and her iPhone in the other. (We even wore our hats.) She didn't have enough hands for everything so the emcee had to hold us while she played Molly's speech into the microphone. I bet David Frei had never held a couple of flat cats wearing fireman helmets before!

Just click below to hear what Molly had to say. (She even mentioned Katie & Waffles, the Fire Safety Cats!)

About Fire Safety Rocks
The Keep Kids Fire Safe® Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to teaching fire safety knowledge and skills to children and their caregivers based on fire safety research. Firefighter Dayna enlists in the help of her Fire Safety Dogs to make fire safety fun. Molly is a member of their local fire department AND a mascot for the Keep Kids Fire Safe Foundation.

The voice of Molly is actually an adorable and talented 10 year old girl. She helps Dayna with all of Molly's fire safety videos.

Homecoming On-A-Stick

How about that cool BlogPaws t-shirt??? Did you know that it's an original GLOGIRLY design?!

Hi everyone, Katie-On-A-Stick here.

Glogirly, Flat Waffles and I made it safely home to the Townhouse yesterday. We had a GRRREAT time at BlogPaws with all of our friends, old and new.

But all this BlogPaws-ing has made even us flat cats pretty sleepy.  Glogirly hasn't unpacked yet and she's been napping all day. At least she finally opened up the suitcase so Flat Waff and I could get some air.

Waffles WINS!
In case you haven't heard, Waffles Too was one of the big WINNERS at BlogPaw's Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards!

Check out yesterday's post if you missed the news.

He won Best Twitter Design for his Waffly-cute Twitter profile. From the sounds of the cheers and applause, everyone must REALLY love breakfast.

Somewhere inside this suitcase we've got Waffles' trophy wrapped up and hidden. Maybe THAT's why Glogirly hasn't unpacked yet.

Katie Silent
So far, Katie has remained silent. It's not yet known if she is aware of Waffles' Win, but she's been avoiding the pawparazzi and maintaining an extremely low profile.

Tune in this week for more BlogPaws drama.

BlogPaws Day 3: You Can Ring My ♪Catbell ♫♩

Hi everyone, Katie-On-A-Stick here.

It's been a whirlwind few days here at BlogPaws. Waffles-On-A-Stick and I spent ALL day helping Glogirly meet, greet and hand out swag to fellow pet bloggers and friends. Even a few DOGS. That's us up there in the postcard riding along in Glogirly's rolling swag-mobile.

This year we really wanted to make some noise.  So we handed out official GLOGIRLY DESIGN CATbells! Ok, so they were actually COWbells...but we wanted the CATS to be heard at BlogPaws, and we knew no ordinary jingle-bells would do.

The front of the bells were printed with our cat-ears logo and the back read: WHEN YOUR STUFF NEEDS MORE CATBELL. Then we asked everyone to bring their catbells to the Nose-to-Nose Awards Presentation so they could cheer on Glogirly and ALL the other cat bloggers.

After we walked the red carpet, it was time for the awards. We were very honored to be named finalists in multiple categories. And each time emcee David Frei, of Westminster Dog Show fame, read "Glogirly" or any other cat blogger's name, the crowd went WILD! I bet he's already worried the cats might overtake Westninster.

Clanking catbells could be heard from DC to LA. I bet even Austin could hear them across the pond!

And the BIG news of the night – drum roll.....................

We're still trying to figure out how to break the news to Katie.  First Waffles steals her food. Then her toys. He steals her litter box, her blanket, her chair. And NOW...

This could get ugly.

Stay tuned...
for more news from BlogPaws. We'll be sharing fun stories all week! This is Katie-On-A-Stick, over and out.

BlogPaws Day 2: Better You Than Me Dress Code

Hi everyone, Katie-On-A-Stick here.

It's day three at the BlogPaws Pet Blogging and Social Media Conference and I've got to tell you...I'm more than a little concerned with the dress code here.

I was not at ALL prepared for Brighton the Cornish Rex Rocker from Curlz & Swirlz. Doesn't he realize that EVERYONE is going to know that's a rug?

Here's Coco, Brighton's cat stroller-mate.  She can't take her eyes off his rug either.

And what's THIS???  Is it a dog?  Is it a bear? It CAN'T be a cat. What self respecting cat would wear a lime green polo shirt? I'm surprised he didn't pop the collar and pair it with some plaid bermudas and dock-siders.

Never thought I'd say that pants were in order for a cat...but Disco the Curlz & Swirlz Sphinx is making me blush just a little.

Tomorrow's the last day of BlogPaws so Flat Waffles and I better get our beauty sleep. We've still got LOTS of friends to meet!
