Tenth Photo Game

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I've been seeing all my friends post about their tenth photos on their blogs. And guess what? I WANNA PLAY TOO!

Gloman took my tenth photo the day after he brought me home to Glogirly. I was her anniversary present. Pretty romantic considering he's really a dog person at heart.

#10

In my tenth photo, I'm sitting at the top of the townhouse steps watching Gloman fumble around with all his camera gear. I remember thinking, "that's sure alot of camera gear!" In fact, at first I thought his name was Nikon. His camera's name is Nikon. All his lenses say Nikon. For all I knew, his underwear was labeled Nikon. Maybe he stole all this stuff from some guy named Nikon.

Nikon Guy

That's okay though. Because he stole me away from the shelter, put a pretty purple ribbon around my neck, and brought me home to my girl. (Settle down now... he didn't actually STEAL me, he adopted me fair and square. I'm sure I was VERY expensive.)

#2498
Little did he know what was in store for him.

Anyone can play the Tenth Photo Game! Just find the 10th photo in your first picture file, post it, and tell us about it.

Introducing BOGG

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Glogirly and I are introducing something new today. Well SHE says its new, but I know better. It's called BOGG. Best Of GloGirly. I call it ROGG. Reruns Of GloGirly. Or LOGG. Lazy Old GloGirly.

You got it. "Someone" claims she is too busy for new material. "Someone" says we should share some of my musings from before I was "discovered." Discovered? What the fluff is that supposed to mean? I don't need no stinkin' Christopher Columbus to discover me. I'm an enlightened 21st century cat and I can "find" myself thank you.

Nice outfit, Chirstopher.
I hope you got a lot of compliments on those tights.

Hey Columbus! 1492 called.
They want their stupid hat back.

I'm powerless against this whole BOGG thing. Looks like it just might become a regular feature here on the blog. You see, even though Glogirly can't hiss like me, bite like me or be aloof like me, she IS bigger than me. Fine.

So here you go. I hope you enjoy the encore... or rather, rerun.

FOILED AGAIN

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Aluminum foil is the enemy. It taunts me. It haunts me. That horrible high-pitched tinny sound, and then the rrrrrip. It sends me running for the hills... I mean steps.

Foil hurts my sensitive cat ears. Give me fingernails on a chalkboard. Give me Gloman banging a pop can on the steel end table just to make me look. Sheesh, give me a screaming kid. Ok, don't give me a screaming kid.

But please, please, please, keep the Reynold's Wrap in the drawer.

Remembering Dad

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Six years ago today, Glogirly lost her dad. She still smiles every time she tells me about him or recalls one of his stories.

Glogirly loved and admired her dad so much. She says that he is still her greatest influence. The thing she admires most about her dad and his life is the amazing positive attitude he had about everything. No matter how great the challenge, no matter what the odds, even when his heart was breaking, he saw the good. He saw the good in everything and everyone. And that's how he lived his life each and every day.

He never saw his glass as half empty. It was always half full. Like his heart, there was always enough for him, enough to share and enough room to invite more people in.

I know how it feels to miss someone.

A Spring In My Step

Hi everyone, Katie here.

It was the first day of spring over the weekend. And what says spring better than a fresh bouquet of Katie?

It's also spring break for lots of school kids. Now I'm no school kid, but I am sure liking the sounds of spring break. I deserve a spring break. I've got many important responsibilities. My life is busy and stressful. As you know, I oversee all aspects of the townhouse 24-7. Security, maintenance, inspection, general appearance... I do it all. Gloman couldn't make his morning coffee without me and Glogirly wouldn't be able to put on her makeup sans my watchful eye and guidance. Who'd pick out her lip color if I weren't here to advise?

So I'm considering some possible destinations. Fiji, St. Tropez, Belize.

Pass me the tuna.
Did you bring the cheese?

Where's my cabana-boy?
I'd like a snack, if you please.

Frankly, I'd settle on a long weekend behind the ever-closed door of the guest room.

There has GOT to be something good behind this door.
Until it opens, my frog stands vigil and I await spring break.

Another Award!

Hi everyone, Katie here.

My cooler than cool friend Misty from The Crew's Views gave me this awesomely fabulous Beautiful Blogger Award! And what girly-girl cat in her right cat mind would ever get tired of being called Beautiful!!! So thanks Misty and Max and Tipper and George!

Here's how it works:
I tell you 7 things about me and then pass it on to 7 of my beautiful blogging friends. SEVEN? Now THAT'S going to be hard with so many beautiful blogging friends. Sheesh... the pressure.

Here's my 7 things:

#1
I love 70's music.
I made Glogirly buy the whole TIME LIFE collection from Tony Orlando's infomercial.

#2
Red Box nights are the best. We just rented UP. It was waaaay better than that George Clooney UP IN THE AIR thing.

#3
I like a clean house.
Messy makes me stressy.

#4
Gloman says I'm WIRED.
I'm not sure it's a compliment.

#5
Sometimes I wish I was a kangaroo. Then I'd have a place to stash my pole dancing tips. No, I don't do lap dances.

#6
I love my Cat Fisher. Whenever Glogirly tangles up the line, Gloman has to come fix it. That's way more fun to watch than actually playing with it.

#7
When Glogirly was little, she collected pigs. I think we need one of these parked outside the townhouse.

Introducing The MOOD RING AWARD

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Glogirly and I were talking last night. Just the usual girl-stuff. Fashion, makeup, blogging. Cheese, shoes, mood rings. One thing led to another and we came up with a very cool idea.

A MOOD RING AWARD.

The MOOD RING AWARD is a very unique award. We all know there are awards for being sweet. (I never win those.) There are awards for eloquent prose. (I'd rather pose than prose.) There are beautiful awards. (Isn't just being a cat a beautiful enough award on its own?) And there are even best friend awards. (Glogirly is my BFF and this award is NOT for her.)

The MOOD RING AWARD celebrates the very thing that makes us cats so special. Some days we feel pink. Other days blue. Summer days are often green, but maybe you're feeling just a little bit orange.

(Don't tell her, I'll deny everything if you do... but Glogirly actually gave me the idea. If you were to ask her what her favorite color is, she would simply say, "How can I possibly choose only ONE favorite color when there are so many beautiful ones!") I agree. Life would be pretty boring if everything and everyday were the same color. Glogirly says cats would be pretty boring if we weren't so moody. I'm not sure how to take that.

So here's how the MOOD RING AWARD works:

STEP #1
Each recipient must share four things about themselves that represent the four colors of the mood ring: Pink, Blue, Orange and Green. You know me, photos are encouraged but optional.

Here, I'll go first:

PINK
As much as I'm a true girly-girl, I feel that Glogirly takes the whole pink thing a little far. I let her change my blog colors. I even said mew to the pink in my new logo. But I must draw the line at this. A harness is bad enough in any color. But pink just adds insult to injury. In fact, I may be forced to inflict a little insult and injury if I ever have to wear this again.

BLUE
The only thing besides an empty food dish that makes me feel blue is watching my girl leave. I know, I know... I say that I cherish my alone-time. I mew big about napping, providing townhouse security and running up and down the steps naked. But truth be told, when I get left alone my world feels kind of blue.

ORANGE
They say that cats don't like orange. Well I'm not a fan of cirtus air freshener either. Ick. But I DO love my orange butterfly. This is no ordinary butterfly. It's a Casbah Kitten butterfly that's filled with catnip. Awesome. AND, it flies around on a stick so it means that Glogirly has to play butterfly WITH me. So for me, orange is very happy. I love orange.

GREEN
That famous frog said it's not easy being green. And now, everyone thinks it's cool and correct to be green. Sometimes my eyes look super green, so I guess that makes me cool and correct too. I recycle. I bring green bags to the grocery store. I use public transportation. Well Glogirly does, so I'm just going to ride on her green coat tails. Let's be clear though. I'd rather NOT ride the bus again.

STEP #2
Each recipient must choose FOUR COLORFUL friends to give the award to. Don't forget to say who they are and give a link to their blog. If you'd like, add in a little something about why you've chosen them. Once again, photos are optional but always fun. I've never met a cat who doesn't like having their photo (a flattering one of course) online for the world to see.

It was very hard to pick just four. I love all my friends. But this is just the start of the MOOD RING AWARD. I know that it won't be long before everyone is wearing one!

Sooooooo......Congratulations to my friends:

Whenever I'm feeling orange and bright I LOVE playing with my cool Casbah Kitten felt toys. They are the best EVER!!! And their blog always makes me smile.

Fin and I share the same sarcastic sense of humor and the same brand of crackpot V-E-T's. So whenever I'm feeling green I look to Finny for support.

Whenever I'm feeling blue, Luna lights up my day with her loving comments, beautiful blue eyes and an especially sweet blog from far, far away.

It should come as no surprise that I look to Daisy when I'm feeling pink. She's my fashion inspiration. I want to play in HER closet.

What? I said FOUR not Five friends. And hey... these two Frenchies are DOGS??? Well I made up the rules so I can break them too. Don't tell anyone, but I'm an equal opportunity cat blogger. So once in a while I like to share a little love with my canine friends. And who better than Benny & Lily with their hilarious antics, addicting personalities and COLORFUL wardrobes!
B & L rock!

THE LAST STEP #3
Be sure to post the MOOD RING AWARD badge in your blog post and a link back to your friend that gave you the award. You can grab this little one here or the big one at the top.

Here's where you thank the blogger that gave you the award.
Like this:

Thanks to KATIE (oh, I guess that's me) for this awesomely cool and colorful award. ...I'd like to thank the academy, my fellow cat blogging friends, my therapist, the dogs... Huh? Glogirly says NO acceptance speeches.

Fine.

Better watch out.
I feel my mood ring a-changing.

Official Sharpie Holder To The Stars

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Thank you for all of your advice and words of encouragement as they pertain to Glogirly and her cheating, blogging ways. I've decided to take the high road. To look at life as if my food dish is always half full.

Does that mean that I can get more?
I'd like to have more please.

Anyway, I know that Glogirly was only trying to help our friend Fin by designing her book cover and blog makeover and that's a very nice thing to do. I also know that Fin is giving me and my blog all kinds of great PR and shout outs and that's also a very nice thing to do.

So in an effort to demonstrate I have no hard feelings, I would like to offer my services to Fin as her official Sharpie holder. Once her big book tour begins, she's going to need someone like me to hold her Sharpies. Book signings, talk show appearances, CNN, The Today Show. EVERYONE is going to want an autograph.
(...or pawtograph.)

Of course, Fin will need to pick up my travel expenses. All the gingivitis food I can eat, a suite at the W, spa treatments and limo rides. Actually, I think I'll be needing an assistant to carry all my Sharpies.

Crime Scene At The Townhouse

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Something has been up here in the townhouse for the past few days. Something suspicious. Something sneaky. I'm declaring the townhouse a crime scene and I am officially ON THE CASE.

"Thump-Thump."

I've questioned Glogirly, my prime suspect. She's been elusive. I have employed my own brand of interrogation tactics. Nothing. She says it's confidential. Confidential this, confidential that. CONFIDENTIAL.

I've done my best sneaking.
Still... I find nothing.

Hmmmm. All this CONFIDENTIAL talk has me thinking she's flipped sides. That she... dare I say... has been working for another blog. That's treason in my book.

What? Book? Huh? A CONFIDENTIAL manuscript of sorts? Wait!

THIS JUST IN:
Associated Cat Press
Somewhere in the Desert, USA

Renowned cat blogger Fin from HOUSECAT CONFIDENTIAL has just announced that her life's work is soon to be published in a tell-all memoir. Housecat Confidential The Blog, will soon become Housecat Confidential The Book.

Fellow blogger Katie (OMC that's me!) has been charged with the new design of Fin's blog and book cover. Additional details are not available at this time however any new information will be released on a need to know basis at the official HOUSECAT CONFIDENTIAL blog site.

WTFluff!!! I don't know anything about this! This is slander I tell you. I'm certain that Glogirly is behind this. She's been cheating on me and my blog, I just know it. Sharing secret designs behind my back... elicit phone calls in the night. No wonder I haven't been able to get a single decent post out of her this week. I'm going over to Fin's right now to get to the bottom of this!

Glogirly, let this serve as a warning.
You better stop cheating on me.

Here Come's The Judge

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Glogirly came back from her trip. Finally. And as per usual, I've had to make my own fun around here. So I've decided to take up law. If Judge Judy can do it, so can I.

"A cat killer? Is that the face of a cat killer?
Cat chaser maybe... but hey, who isn't?"

So all you dogs out there, pay attention. Obey us cats or your day in my court may be your LAST. (...a dog-lawyer? hahahahaha!)

Judge Katie's definition of justice:
Enough gingivitis food for All!
